June

June has been such a busy, event packed month this year.  First it was the end of school and hot, hot days.  Kristin graduated from DePaul and my mom came out for the weekend to join in the graduation celebration.  Paul's mom would have liked to come as well, but illness kept her away.  After having such hot weather the first week of June, graduation weekend started out rather cold and rainy though graduation day itself was a lovely sunny day.  We participated in a picnic at DePaul Friday night, a brunch on Saturday sponsored by the College of Communication and the actual graduation itself was held at Allstate Arena on Sunday at noon.  The ceremony was very nice - all the graduates marched across the stage to receive their diplomas, the speaker was good - it was a dignified event.  We had a party in the afternoon at our house to celebrate the occasion.  After graduation weekend, it was my birthday weekend and Father's Day.  We celebrated my birthday with breakfast out and a trip to a garden center.  My birthday gift was an Ipad - which I am having great fun using.  John and Sasha and Kristin were all here on Sunday for Father's Day and we had a nice dinner here at home.  Kristin is in the process of moving her belongings out of her apartment and back home and John is also moving some stuff here - he is moving into a new place in August but his lease is currently up the end of June - not sure what is going to happen there.  He has acquired a piano and electric organ - which are currently in our living room.  We rent a UHaul this weekend to get the rest of Kristin's things.  I've been helping out with Vacation bible school this week which has been a lot of fun.  So goes the month of June.
